Most often, we deliver searchable PDF files to customers for whom we perform book, newspaper, and magazine digitization. This gives them the ability to keyword search the files (with matching keywords being highlighted on the page) while providing a very high-quality image of the original paper page, in either full color or 256-color grayscale.
Absolutely, and at a very high level of quality. We do recommend that large bound volumes of newspapers are first disbound prior to scanning, which we can typically do here for you prior to digitization. This allows us to scan the newspaper pages completely flat and eliminate any curve and shadow on the resulting images due to the bound volume’s gutter, giving you the best images possible.
Our TTI copy stand can accommodate items a bit larger than its 40″ x 60″ vacuum board. We can actually scan up to 40″ x 53.3″ at 300dpi true optical resolution, in full 48-bit color. We can digitize larger items as well, but that will require multiple shots and “stitching” the resulting images together.
Yes. Our staff are experts in digital restoration and can fix faded photographs, torn and cracked edges, remove ink scribbles and other blemishes, etc. Such custom retouching work is billed at $75 / hour in 1/4 hour increments.
